Try Tennis

Embrace the benefits

Played across the world on a multitude of surfaces by those looking for fun, activity, or competition. There is a reason tennis is one of the most popular sports –come rain or shine.

First and foremost, tennis is a great option when it comes to your health and fitness.

Breathing elevates, heart rate rises and the mind releases those ‘feel-good’ endorphins just as with any form of cardio. Muscles in the body are utilised in combination with logical thinking, calculating each response to the unknown strike of the opponent. It’s often hard to imagine that such an enjoyable activity can constitute a workout –but trust us... it really does!

Exciting and engaging, tennis provides a great opportunity for individuals of any age to practice healthy competition. Developing communication skills and learning about winning and losing. Whether it’s for fun or for real, it’s great to watch each other progress at similar rates and chase to be the champion!

The option to play doubles also offers the chance for a group of four to play together which is ideal for larger groups or families whilst taking a little bit of the edge off the sport. Rotate teams, create your own mini tournament –the option is yours! Remember that there’s no such thing as tennis for beginners, even Roger Federer had to start somewhere before making it to Centre Court at Wimbledon...Along with many far-reaching benefits that exercise provides, the NHS suggests that “exercising just once or twice a week can reduce the risk of heart disease or stroke”. So, get out, grab a racket, and get some fresh air whilst making memories. Choose the active option!
