Our footwear policy
Keeping you safe in our centres
Footwear is required in gym, group cycling and studio settings for our members’ safety. The footwear should cover toes and be secured around the foot/ankle.
Footwear must be worn when using all cardiovascular, functional, and fixed strength equipment. The footwear must be appropriate for the activity or exercise being completed - e.g. crocs would not be suitable for Treadmill, but fine for a fixed strength Chest Press.
The only exception to this is when gym users are lifting, in this instance footwear can be removed with socks worn or barefoot. If lifting barefoot or in socks, this must take place on either a lifting platform, within a rack on rubberised flooring or within stretch areas. Lifting or exercising barefoot or in socks in other areas is not permitted.
Flip flops are not permitted in the gym.
Members participating in health and wellbeing programmes may need to wear slip-on footwear due to medical circumstance.
Footwear which covers toes and is secured around the foot/ankle must be worn during all studio and group cycling classes. The only exception is for holistic classes.
