Walking Football
What is it?
Walking football is like the game you love, but played in a slightly different way!
The biggest difference is that running is off limits including jogging, but you can walk as fast as you want.
Played on small pitches with small goals, walking football is a non-contact game with all the physical and mental health benefits of traditional 5-a-side.
Who can play?
Walking football is perfect for people who have loved the sport and want to get back to playing safely again.
It’s great for older age groups, but also open to younger people with health issues, returning from injury or health care referrals etc.
Why should I play?
Walking football is an excellent way to stay fit and healthy. Along with the physical and mental benefits, participants have also formed new friendships and social groups. Here’s what some of our walking footballers from Hexham said;

Where can I play?
You can join our walking football sessions at Wentworth Leisure Centre, Hexham on Fridays at 12-1.30pm
