Welcome to our National Fitness Day hub
The UK’s biggest celebration of health and fitness is back!
Taking place on 18th September, ukactive’s National Fitness Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of leading a healthier lifestyle by bringing people together through physical activity.
This year’s theme, ‘Your Health is for Life’, has been carried over from last year. It’s a powerful message that rings true for many of us; taking small steps now can drive you towards a lifestyle that protects and improves your physical, mental, and social wellbeing.
How to take part
National Fitness Day is all about getting people together, no matter their age, ability, or background to embrace the positive impact of exercise at whatever place they’re at in life.
Everyone can gain something from staying active, and our centres are here to help you take that next step, however that looks and feels. There’s no better time than National Fitness Day to try something new, whether that’s through a quick workout or a full-on fitness session!
If you can’t make it to one of our centres on National Fitness Day, there are plenty of other ways you can get involved. Take a walk on your lunch break, join that sports team you’ve had your eye on, or make the most of the last of the sunshine with some gardening – whatever suits you.
Don’t forget that our Places Leisure app has hundreds of free virtual workouts for you to do anytime, anywhere. No matter what your current level of fitness is, there’s something for everyone.
