Matthew's story

Matthew is determined to get back to the level of fitness he once had!

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and the arrival of his now 2-year-old son, Matthew had a good level of fitness and enjoyed playing rugby, running and attended the occasional Group Cycling class.

However, juggling the balance of having a full-time job, being an on-call firefighter and making sure to spend plenty of quality time with his family, has meant his fitness regime has been pushed to the side, leading to an inactive lifestyle for Matthew. He says, “the ‘dad bod’ has taken over”.

Embracing the onset of the New Year provides a golden opportunity for change. We understand pursuing positive habits and incorporating regular exercise into our routines can significantly enhance both our physical and mental well-being. Matthew is determined to get back to the level of fitness he once had! He says, “I want to get back to some form of resemblance to what level of fitness I had before my wedding”.

Physical activity not only uplifts mood, promotes sound sleep, and assists in stress and anxiety management but is also crucial for releasing energy, boosting the immune system, and fostering a more optimistic perspective on life.

Matthew's aspiration for a healthier lifestyle extends beyond personal desire; he is determined to be a better role model for his son, ensuring he follows a healthy lifestyle in the future!
