Sports at Wycombe Leisure Centre
From booking a court with friends or learning a sport for the first time our centre has something that’s right for you. We work hard with the National Governing Bodies of a number of sports to fill our facilities with ideas that are fun and engaging.
Most of our sports are available to book online.
To do this you'll either need to be a member, or sign up for a free Places Membership.
Football
The world's most popular sport, football provides a great workout and improves overall fitness, coordination and stamina. You can enjoy a game with friends or join a league on our pitch.
We've got options inside and out, with our 5-a-side pitches within the centre as well as facilities available at nearby John Hampden School.
Football at Wycombe Leisure Centre
Outdoor football
Our Synthetic Turf Pitch (STP) is located within the grounds of John Hampden Grammar School, just across the road from the leisure centre. It is a second generation sand dressed pitch which is ideal for football and hockey.
It comprises of 3 x 7-a-side football pitches or 1 x 11 a-side football/hockey pitch, timed flood lighting system, shower and changing facilities, limited car parking and a staffed administration office.

- Monday - Friday 6pm - 10pm (During term times)
- Weekends and Bank Holidays 10am - 8pm (Please note, this is subject to change. Please check with reception)
- School Holidays 9am - 10pm

Five-A-Side Football
Looking for an indoor pitch? We offer plenty of slots to book a five-a-side pitch for you and a group of friends.
Spaces are available every day, and can be booked via our timetable.
Fencing
Fencing is a game of physical chess played at lightning speed. A great way to keep fit, fencing helps find focus and provides a fun workout – a way of relieving the stresses of the week.
Fencing courses
We run regular fencing classes at Wycombe Leisure Centre, with options for both newcomers and those who have had some experience fencing.
Beginner course
Mondays 6:15pm - 7:15pm
Classes are open to children between the ages of 8 and 14-years-old old. We fence the weapon foil, and provide all the required fencing safety equipment.
Advanced course
Mondays 7:15pm - 8:15pm
Classes are open to children between the ages of 8 and 15-years-old old. We fence the weapon foil for these classes. Many of our foilists have competed at county and regional competitions.
Our coach, Jacqueline Faulkner, is a a level 3 BFA registered coach. Get in touch if you'd like to find out about our fencing courses.
Climbing
Our climbing wall is available for use for beginners and climbing veterans, and is also suitable for school groups and birthday parties.

We’re thrilled to support the re-opening of three local tennis courts in partnership with the council. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just picking up a racket for the first time, our courts are ready for you to serve, rally, and smash your way to fun and fitness

Pickleball
From the 6th June 2024 at Wycombe Leisure Centre we will be introducing Pickleball drop-in sessions

We also offer a range of activities and clubs for our senior members and visitors at Wycombe Leisure Centre - from Yoga and Pilates to Walking Football and Aqua Fit sessions in our pool.

Walking Football
Wycombe Wanderers Foundation have a thriving Walking Football programme that includes a weekly session at Wycombe Leisure Centre every Thursday morning from 11.00am - 12.00pm. The all-inclusive sessions seek to provide people (aged 50+ and/or with a long-term health condition) to play football at a much slower pace and enjoy the game. Our sessions are fun, enjoyable, sociable whilst promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
Cost £5 per session.
Aqua Fit
We run Aqua Fit sessions throughout the week, a great low-impact exercise for older adults.

Badminton
Badminton is an easy sport to learn and can be a very social game. The speed of the shuttlecock also makes this one of the quickest of the racket sports. It can be played at any pace making it enjoyable for all ages.

Squash
Our squash courts are available to book throughout the week, just use the timetable to make a booking.

We encourage both the partially-sighted and the disabled association to use our facilities along with the Bucks Indoor Short Mat Bowls Association.

Big Bucks High Rollers
Roller Derby is a contact sport played by two teams roller skating around a track. Game play consists of each jammer trying to score points, by lapping members of the opposing team, whilst the team attempts to hinder them.
We welcome skaters of all abilities, and our doors are always open to those who want to give it a go.
- Sessions are on Wednesdays 7.00pm-9.00pm
Rugby Tots
Rugby Tots offers fun filled, rugby play sessions that allow children to develop their social and physical skills, as well as the opportunity to encourage them to work in a team and learn the basics of rugby. Suitable for children aged 2-7 years old.
The following winter term sessions (18th November to 24th February) include:
- Saturdays 8.45am - ages 2 to 3.5
- Saturdays, 9.20am - ages 3.5 to 5
- Saturdays, 10.10am - ages 2 to 3.5

Horizon Sports Club
Horizon is an unique sports club for children from 6 years with disabilities. Offering enjoyable remedial skills, including communication and social interaction.

Practical Karate
Karate can provide both aerobic and anaerobic exercise and interesting bodyweight activities that can improve your balance, joint mobility, flexibility, coordination and concentration.

Youth Basketball training for 7-16 years boys/girls has been introduced at Wycombe Leisure Centre by MagicHoops Basketball Academy.

Wycombe and District Sports Association for the Disabled (WADSAD)
WADSAD is a club for disabled adults in the Wycombe and District area which meets on alternate Sunday evenings from 7 – 9pm at the Wycombe Leisure Centre. We offer a range of activities including swimming, football, badminton and new age curling as well as an opportunity to socialise with other members. We welcome members with any disability and no sporting experience is necessary.
Carers are always welcome.
