Learn the basics of CPR and first aid
The course
The Emergency First Aid at Work course covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills and equips employers and their staff with the ability to reduce the risks and dangers in the workplace. Some topics within the course include:
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
- How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
- How to manage a casualty who is in shock
- How to assess an incident
- How to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
- How to manage a casualty with a minor injury
- How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
- How to manage a casualty with external bleeding
The Emergency First Aid at Work course is trainer assessed and comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work. There is a practical assessment on CPR and first aid, and all assessment criteria must be achieved to pass an Emergency First Aid at Work course.
Course details
- Saturday 4th January
- 9.00am - 4.30pm
- At The Dolphin Leisure Centre
- £80 for staff members, £100 for external customers
Requirements
Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old at the time of assessment. No prior first aid knowledge is required.
