What our customers say
Martina, 72
At 72, Martina had always been an active person. As a retired nurse, she was used to being on her feet, but after retiring ten years ago, she found herself slowing down. A mix of health conditions led to frequent falls, and she started losing confidence in being active.
That’s when she decided to join the Exercise on Referral Programme. Over 12 weeks, Martina threw herself into the program, attending two group exercise classes and three gym sessions every week.
Martina highlights that “The exercise programme is simple to get into, with supportive and affirming instructors, where if anything is too challenging, they will adapt the exercise to your needs.”
In the gym, Martina focused on building her strength using machines and improving her balance by walking on the treadmill. She stuck to her plan, showing up five times a week and giving it her all.
Eight months later, Martina is still going strong, and shares that “ I can now take bigger strides on the treadmill without worrying about falling over, my blood pressure has improved, and I feel stronger.”
But it wasn’t just about the exercise—it was the community. Martina says “The most enjoyable element of the programme for me is the social element. We are in it together. Other people keep me coming, and staying motivated.”
Martina’s story is a testament to the power of movement, support, and perseverance. Her journey proves that it’s never too late to take charge of your health and find joy in staying active!

Junior fitness
We believe a physically active child is much more likely to become a physically active adult. We run the following supervised sessions for children aged 11-15 years to attend:
- Monday 4:00pm - 5.00pm
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 4:00pm - 5:00pm and 5:00pm - 6:00pm.
- Thursday 5:00pm - 6:00pm
- Sunday - 12:00pm - 2:00pm
All junior gym users must complete a group introduction before using the gym independently. These sessions last 30 minutes and can be booked with a member of our team when joining.
Once a junior member has completed their introduction and received programme advice they can attend outside the above supervised sessions with a parent/guardian or appropriate adult (18+) on a ratio of a maximum four juniors per adult.
An introduction will need to be completed at each centre to be used.

Move Through Menopause
We understand that going through the menopause can be an extremely isolating time with over 90% of women struggling with menopausal symptoms in the UK. This common, but disregarded health condition has resulted in an increase in mental health issues, a demotivation to socialise and a decrease in physical capability.
Consequently, our 12 week Move through Menopause course has been created to empower women by helping them learn about the condition, meeting other women who are going through the same thing, and ultimately closing the stigma around menopause.
Next course date: to be confirmed
