Climbing at Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex
The safety bit
Your safe enjoyment is our number one priority whilst using our facility.
All users that wish to climb independently will be asked to demonstrate that they can safely tie in, belay and fit a harness on their first visit.
The minimum age for climbing independently is 14, however each independent adult climber (aged 18yrs or over) can supervise up to two novices.
Registration
All independent climbers (novice and competent) need to register before climbing for the first time. Please register with the Places Leisure app prior to arrival so that we can then link your consent form.
Supervision
You can still climb on the autobelays while supervising, however, your primary focus must be the supervision of novices. You must adequately check each novice before they start climbing. Failure to do this may result in you being asked to stop climbing. Our instructors are always available to clarify safe operating practices.
