About the centre
What facilities are at the new Eclipse Leisure Centre?
- Eclipse Leisure centre offers a wealth of incredible facilities including:
- State-of-the-art gym with 200 stations
- 25 metre, 8 lane main pool and larger learner pool complete with moveable floor and viewing gallery.
- Interactive splash pad
- Costa coffee on site café complete with large seating area
- Clip n' Climb with 14 climbing experiences
- Soft Play
- Extensive group workout programme, including over 100 classes each week, in larger studios with more capacity
- Immersive Group Cycling programme including THE TRIP™, a fully immersive workout experience that combines a 40-minute multi-peak cycling workout with a journey through digitally created worlds
- Speedflex classes, run on the gym floor
- EGYM Fitness Hub and Tanita Body Composition scales
- 6-court sports hall complete with LED flooring plus viewing gallery
- Sauna and steam room
- Squash courts
- Rooftop Astroturf football pitches
- Large car park - when the centre opens, the carpark will include 102 spaces, increasing to 300 spaces by summer 2025
Not to mention it’s one of the world’s largest Passivhaus certified leisure centres – meaning it has been recognised for its outstanding environmental efficiency and sustainability performance credentials and is one the first certified Passivhaus leisure facilities in the UK!

What are the centre's opening hours?
The centre's opening hours are:
- Monday to Friday: 6.00am - 11.00pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 7.00am - 10.00pm
- Bank holidays: 7.00am - 7.00pm
When will the centre be open?
Our centre is now open.
Does the centre have WiFi?
Yes, there is publicly accessible Wifi available for our visitors.
You will need to search your wireless connections for 'Active Places', then read through our terms and conditions and follow the instructions provided, it is a very simple process, although we will have staff on hand to assist if required.
Does the centre having parking?
Our car park will happen in 3 stages over 4-6 months.
Phase 1 – 102 spaces, plus 68 additional spaces available at Knowle Green
Phase 2 – 127 spaces, including 12 disabled bays and 12 parent and child spaces, plus 68 additional spaces available at Knowle Green
Phase 3 – 282 spaces, including 30 electric vehicle charging ports, 12 disabled bays and 12 parent and child spaces
I don't drive, is there a bus route?
Yes, there is a bus stop in Knowle Green, which is approximately a 6 minute walk from the centre
Swimming
I have limited mobility; how do I access the pool?
We have a number of options for you to access the pool in the way that is best for you. Options include:
Main pool:

What pools are available at the centre?
There is a 25 metre, 8 lane main pool, a learner pool complete with moveable floor and viewing gallery and an interactive splash pad. Please note, for those who enjoy lane swimming, we will always leave part of the pool free so you can lane swim during any swim session.
Please note, our Teaching pool and sauna & steam room is currently closed for the final commissioning works to be completed. We want to do everything we can to ensure these facilities can operate as efficiently and safely as possible and hope to share a confirmed opening date with you shortly.
We understand that this has impacted our ability to offer Aquafit sessions, so are pleased to let you know that we will temporarily be offering a reduced Aquafit schedule in our main pool. You can book your space on the Places Leisure app or via our website.
What is a splash pad?
Our splash pad is an area of the pool hall where toddlers and younger children can enjoy hours of fun with water jets and splash areas. It’s a wonderful introduction to the joys of water in a safe environment
Are lockers available to use at the centre?

Badminton
When badminton is booked, customers must bring their own equipment or there is availability to hire at site, for a non-refundable cost of £5.
Memberships and pricing
Junior memberships
We offer Junior membership options for 0-7 years, 8-10 years and 11-15 years. Junior memberships cannot be purchased online, adult supervision is required at time of sign up.
If you have a Premium membership you can add up to four juniors 0-15 years old to your membership for just £1 per junior.
Inclusive membership
Our Inclusive membership offers a 50% discount on selected membership rates for members with disabilities.
The discount is available on our Flexi and Annual payment options on our Premium, Swim, Gym, 16-18, 19-25 and Junior membership types.
Our Inclusive membership is available for those in receipt of one or more of the following;
- Personal Independence Payments (PIP)
- Attendance Allowance
- Children's Disability Living Allowance
- Continuing Healthcare funding
Everyone who takes out an Inclusive membership is eligible to be accompanied by up to two support workers/carers to their chosen session free of charge. If you are a carer that needs to support an Inclusive member in the pool, then please let the General manager at the leisure centre know so they can organise the support required.
If you are a carer and want to use the facilities yourself, you are eligible for our discounted Concessions membership. Alternatively, you can pay the Pay as you go rate for each session. Please speak to a member of the team for more information.

Activity bookings
Will I need to pre-book my activity?
All Premium members can access the facilities at any time during opening hours once they have checked-in at one of the self-serve check-in desks.
How far ahead can I book sessions?
Members can book sessions up to 15 days in advance, from the time of booking.
Non-members and pay as you go customers can book 7 days in advance.
How do I book?
Bookings can be made via our website, app or in centre. We’d highly recommend using the Places Leisure App for bookings, giving you the ability to quickly book sessions and view any upcoming bookings in the app.
Already a member?
Does the change of management affect the people who work there?
We’re pleased to say that you will still see the same familiar faces who’ve served you previously, with just a change to their uniforms. Please be patient with our Colleagues as they adjust to their new centre, and navigate products, systems and policies which may be a little different.
Will I still access my centre in the same way?
All membership activities will still be accessible via a QR code. This can be found via the digital membership card, located on our Places Leisure app.
I was a member at Everyone Active, will I need to do anything when it transfers to Places Leisure?
There is no need to do anything but please be aware of some changes to your Direct Debit, these changes have been communicated to members directly.
Will there be a change to my membership terms and conditions?
All members have been transferred on to a Places Leisure membership. The membership benefits and terms have been communicated with you directly.
I’m a current member, what happens with monthly prices?
We have made some changes to your Direct Debit, these changes have been communicated to members directly.
Swimming Lessons
Places Leisure deliver Swim England Learn to Swim lessons. We operate a similar system to the Aqua Passport that you have currently been using to track your child’s progress, it’s called Course hub. You will need to create a Course hub account with us to access these services.
Swimming hats
We will be issuing coloured swimming hats for children taking part in our lesson programme.
It may take a few weeks to get everyone issued with a hat so please bear with us during this time. If you have any concerns please speak to a member of staff.

Block bookings have continued as normal, and Customers have been contacted directly.
